We found an amazing deal on pre painted shelves, brackets, and the rod…

    All about Bedrooms

… Bedrooms should be an important space in your home.  After all, it is where you sleep, relax, and find rest.  I’m sharing some bedroom design ideas to give you some inspiration so that you can create your own serene living space.  Let’s start with my own master bedroom: Before: First things first, pick your bed wall/feature wall.  A good rule is to use the uninterrupted wall. Don’t be afraid to put your bed against a window, or if you don’t have a window frame your bed with curtains to make a statement.  The goal here, your bed wall is the focal point of the space.  You can see the…

Here are 3 main tips to update or refresh a living room: 1. All about open shelving!

… I wanted to share our open shelves in our kitchen with you guys.  I always get a ton of questions when I share them so I thought I would give you guys the info here on the blog.  We recently completed a huge home renovation and our kitchen was one of the spaces we chose to update.  You can see the before here. The boards we used for the shelves are 2×12 southern pine boards, cut to length + sanded round the edges. We stained them in early American stain.  You can also rub butcher block sealer on top for easy cleaning.  We got the brackets off of Amazon.…

    Easy DIY garland

.. Today with our girls, I am making a super easy fruit garland to add to our tree.  It’s a fun activity to get the kids involved in helping and away from the devices if you know what I mean!  I used limes, oranges, and grapefruit.  I sliced them thin, see here below: I preheated our oven to 200 or the lowest setting.  Lined a few baking sheets with parchment paper and put the fruit slices on them. I put the pans in the oven for 2 hours, then I flipped them and put them back in for 3 hours.  After that, I left them to dry out overnight then…

    DIY bathroom wall

.. I have been dying to add a little something extra to our stark white guest bathroom.  I was inspired by some friends on Instagram as well as Rae Dunn’s art on my drinking glass!  I love this pattern: I had some extra fusion mineral paint and a few sponges so I thought I would give it a shot.  Took me about 20 minutes total.  Here’s my supplies and the paint I used: I love this color by fusion mineral paint!  It’s called “Damask” and it’s a mauve’ish pink.  I simply poured a little paint on a paper plate and dipped my sponge in the paint, then I got the…

I am so excited to tell the world that our kitchen renovation is complete!  I shared one side of our kitchen a few weeks ago on our Instagram page and here on our blog.  I got a lot of inquiries on our cabinets and where they are from.  I am proud to share the cabinets you see below are our existing cabinets.  We just simply reworked them to fit our design style.  When we first bought our home, the first project we tackled was painting our kitchen cabinets.  I called it phase 1…
